The Texas LTC takes two things. A classroom course, and a proctored 50-round shooting qualification. Most outfits do one or the other, then send you hunting for someone to finish the job. We do both, and the range half happens on our private outdoor facility with a DPS-certified instructor working one-on-one with you.

You can find a cheaper LTC in Austin. What you get for it is a classroom seat and a number in line at a shared range, usually with one instructor watching a dozen people at once. That is enough to satisfy the state, and it is the reason so many people walk away with a license and no real confidence in their hands.
Our $500 is not the price of a permit. It is two hours of private instruction, and the qualification happens inside it. You are the only shooter on the line. The first hour is spent fixing whatever is actually wrong with your grip, trigger press, and sight alignment. Then you shoot for score, already knowing you can make the hits.
The cheaper route costs less on the day. It costs more if you fail and pay to do it again somewhere else.
Our online License to Carry class is self-paced and works on any device. Knock it out in one sitting or spread it over a week. You finish with the LTC-101 certificate the state requires with your application.
One of our DPS-certified instructors works your fundamentals first, then proctors the qualification: 50 rounds at 3, 7, and 15 yards, 70% to pass. Most people fail at the 15-yard line. You will not, because you will have spent the first hour fixing exactly that. No indoor lane, no shared range, no waiting your turn.
If you do not pass, you retest free. The qualification is the part people worry about, so we take that risk off you. Do not pass on the day, and you come back and shoot it again at no additional charge.
You do not have to pick a date now. Buy the session, and we text you within one business day to schedule it. Your purchase stays good for 12 months, so you can book it around your calendar rather than the other way around.

The classroom portion is straightforward. The shooting test is where people get surprised, and it is almost always the 15-yard line that does it. Two hours of real coaching before you shoot for score is the difference between passing on day one and paying to retest.

Our range is at 300 US-183, Florence TX 76527, about 45 minutes north of Austin. It is a drive, and it is the whole point. A private outdoor facility is why you get the line to yourself, why nobody is rushing you off it, and why we can run the fundamentals as long as you need before you shoot for score. You get the address and the gate code when we text you to schedule.

You retest free. It is uncommon here, because you spend the first hour fixing the exact things that make people fail. If it does happen, you are not sent away with a shrug and you are not paying for the session twice. We tell you honestly what went wrong, then you come back and shoot it again at no additional charge. Gear is billed separately on a retest, same as the first session.
Once you pass the proficiency test, the paperwork goes to DPS. Processing typically runs 60 to 90 days, and you will be fingerprinted as part of the application. If you want it in hand by a certain date, start the classroom course now rather than later.
Yes. The LTC-101 certificate from the classroom course is required before the qualification counts. Buy them in either order, but complete the course first.
Three reasons people give us. It is recognized in roughly 38 other states, so it travels with you. It covers school-zone exemptions that permitless carry does not. And it speeds up firearm purchases. Whether that is worth it to you is a fair question to ask us on the phone before you buy anything.
Florence is about 45 minutes north of central Austin. Most people come up once, do the two hours, and are done. The private range is what you are driving for.
