Most shooting in the Austin area happens in indoor lanes shared with the public. We run a private outdoor facility a short drive from Austin, booked one group at a time. Because it is outdoors and private, we can run movement drills, reactive steel, and full-auto fire that indoor lanes are not able to permit. ### What can you shoot at a private gun range experience near Austin? Tactical rifles — AR-15s, IWI Tavors, and FN SCARs — on the two-hour experience. The full-auto session puts seven select-fire guns in your hands, one magazine each, including the M16, AK-47, and a belt-fed. The longest experience opens up a collection of over 100 machine guns, including the MP5 and M60. Ammunition is included with every package. ### Do you need experience or your own firearm? Neither. Every session is instructor-led and begins with a safety brief and fundamentals. We supply the firearms, the ammunition, and eye and ear protection. No license, no permit, and no prior range time required. First-time shooters are routine here, not an exception. ### How much does a private gun range experience cost near Austin? The Ultimate Texan is a full day and includes helicopter aerial gunnery; it is scheduled separately because it depends on aircraft availability. ### What should you wear and bring? Closed-toe shoes are required — hot brass and bare feet do not mix. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID, sunglasses, and a hat. We provide eye and ear protection. No alcohol before or during the shoot; anyone who arrives impaired does not shoot and is not refunded.
