Why firearm training is the best activity to do with your staff

The workplace can, at times, be a stressful place. Employers should always look for ways to alleviate stressors and give their staff fun ways to decompress and have some fun. Firearms training is a great way to achieve that; it’s a fun and competitive activity that builds skills, discipline, and a safety minded individual.

The first thing covered in firearms training is safety. In fact, safety is the number one priority in any firearms training. The safety first mindset transfers to other day to day tasks. Individuals learn to always have theirs and others safety in mind. Firearms training exaggerates the importance of safety due to the cosequences that mistakes can cause. It teaches employees that even the most “dangerous and difficult” tasks can be completed as long as safety is always first.

A safety mindset also breeds discipline. According to the Miriam-Webster definition; discipline is defined as training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character. For example, staff will learn that when handling a firearm they must always keep their finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. This type of discipline can transfer to other aspects of work, like always being on time, or getting even menial work tasks done professionally. A disciplined organization is a successful organization.

LEARNING A NEW SKILL CAN BE FUN AND CHALLENGING.

Any company that wants to succeed in its industry must invest in skill building of the people that it employs and the employees must be constantly improving their skill set. Firearms training is a skill intensive activity. Furthermore, firearms training at Tactical Fitness teaches a systematic approach to skill building. This approach can be applied to both physical and mental tasks.

Firearms training can create a competitive environment between staff; whether it is to see who can shoot the furthest, most accurate, or fastest. Competitiveness breeds excellence and a competitive workplace gives incentives for employees to be the best they can be. Taking staff out of the regular workplace can reignite that competitive mindset that may have been lost through the regular monotony of work.

WE HAVE NEVER HAD SOMEONE COME OUT OF A FIREARMS CLASS WITHOUT A SMILE ON THEIR FACE!

Most importantly firearms training is FUN! Whether it is making steel targets ring or the various drills or competitions that are run at a Tactical Fitness course; firearms training is a fun and very different environment that staff will enjoy as a healthy change of pace from their day-to-day tasks.
